Fees and charges

Most clients will like to establish a budget limit for their research. This is absolutely fine; the majority of my clients like to carry out research into their family history in stages. Perhaps you only want a very small search carried out, or would like a more 'in depth' report into your family history. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and for an estimate of how long the research is likely to take. A deposit may be required in advance, for example if it is necessary to order birth, marriage or death certificates, however, this is not always necessary.

Search fees are charged at £20.00 per hour, plus travel expenses
(charged at 40p per mile). Travelling time is not charged.

Photocopies of records are charged at cost.

My minimum charge is £10.00.

Payment can be made by:

Cheque (in £ Sterling) made payable to 'Margaret Lewis'.
If paying by cheque in any other currency, please add £10.00 to your payment to cover bank charges.
